NAF Young Rider squad announced for European Championships As the 2018 FEI Young Rider European Championships is drawing closer British Eventing has announced the NAF Young Rider squad who will represent Great Britain in Fontainebleau, France, on 9th – 15th July.
In alphabetical order, the squad are: Lizzie Baugh on her own 10 year old gelding Quarry Man Sam Ecroyd on Adam Gillespie’s 14 year old gelding Kasseedorf Yasmin Ingham on Edwin and Sue Davies and Janette Chinn's eight year old gelding Rehy DJ Alex Kennedy with John and Andrea Kennedy’s 13 year old gelding Lissangle Cavaletto B (pictured) Mollie Summerland and her own nine year old gelding Charly van Ter Heiden Bubby Upton on Rachel Upton’s eight year old gelding Cola III First reserve: Richard Coney and his own 10 year old gelding Kananaskis Second reserve: Phoebe Locke on her own 10 year old gelding Union Fortunus Three riders who represented GB last year on the European Young Rider squad return this year; Lizzie Baugh, Sam Ecroyd and Alex Kennedy, as Bubby Upton this year moves up to Young Riders following her individual gold medal at the Junior European Championships in 2017. Yasmin Ingham last made a team appearance in 2013 at the European Championships for Ponies where she secured a team and individual gold medal, whilst 2018 for Mollie Summerland will mark her championship debut. Rehy DJ is a horse that was sourced by Uptown Eventing two years ago and is realising the potential we saw in him.
