Who We Are

Uptown Eventing is the duo of Rachel & Michael Wynne.

This formidable couple can be seen at many events in the UK, Europe & Worldwide and for many years have been responsible for matching many successful combinations of horse and rider.

At London 2012 Olympics, five horses from four Nations had been sourced by Uptown Eventing and were short listed for the Games including Lionheart with William Fox-Pitt (GB), Imperial Cavalier with Mary King (GB), Manoir de Carneville with Sinead Halpin (USA), Chase The Moon with Raf Kooremans (NED) and Latina 43 with Takayuki Yumira (JPN).  Three eventually made the games and two won Silver Medals.  This was a huge honour for both Rachel & Michael.
They have continued to source a large number of horses that have competed at major championships for their countries such as and including 2016 Rio Olympics, 2017 Strzegom European Championships, 2018 World Games, 2019 European Championships at Luhmuhlen and ones due to compete at Tokyo 2021 Olympics.

They have a wealth of experience in Horse Sales & a huge knowledge of the Market to find the exact horse to match your criteria.  Their aim is to guide you with clarity & assist you through the Sales Process as discreetly as possible.

Rachel

Rachel has been involved in the sport of Eventing for nearly 25 years.  She describes herself as a ‘good amateur’ having had several really good horses including Remember Spartan & Uptown both of which she had produced to Four Star Level.

Her quest for professionalism is second to none; she has worked incredibly hard to be respected by the top riders and is a very familiar face on the circuit.

Rachel is well known for writing the gossip column 'Stabletalk' in Eventing Magazine, and she has also worked as a presenter on Radio Badminton.

Michael

Michael started in Showjumping, producing his own horses to the top of the sport for over 25 years.  He also competed successfully winning at International Grand Prix level in the UK and  Europe.

Michael also plays Polo, and was an active member of The Cheshire Polo Club.  He plays with a handicap of 1 and produced some of his own polo ponies.

Looking for a new challenge, a career in Eventing followed and he worked for David & Catherine Witt, producing their Young Event Horses.  Primitive Loch, bought from Henrietta Knight proved to be the most successful. Within three years of eventing Michael moved through the grades winning at Advanced & CCI4*S.

Michael still rides regularly & is likely to be competing in 2021.

Equestrian Consultancy, website design and photography are Michael's specialty outside of riding.
