Eventer Lauren Shannon and her partner Tom Blades have launched an innovative project, taking the best of their rural location and passion for food!
‘The Rural Restaurant is a new & unique rural pop-up restaurant venture led by Tom. Eating out in rural areas can sometimes feel a little repetitive. However as self-confessed foodies living in rural Leicestershire we have some amazing local producers but perhaps less well known are a number of really talented, independent local chefs.’ said Lauren.
The Rural Restaurant aims to bring together great chefs and their menus, to provide memorable evenings in stunning rural locations.
Uniquely the menu is only gradually revealed course by course. There is no fixed price for each evening’s menu, just a suggested minimum donation which is placed in an envelope before you leave. In addition, without an alcohol licence guests are free to bring their favourite drinks. Finally, each the exact location of each evening’s venue is only revealed to those who have booked, just two days before the event.
‘Our opening evening is this Saturday (25th February) for up to 20 guests. Our chef Ellie from Sage & Honey has designed a full course, fine dining menu inspired by some of her favourite flavours of winter.’ said Lauren.
