New Sponsorship For Somerley Park CIC**

somerley_park_10.jpgSomerley Park International Horse Trials near Ringwood, Hampshire, is delighted to announce a new three year Title Sponsorship deal with property specialists Chesterton Humberts. This is particularly significant in this special Olympic year.

Somerley Park sees this as a perfect alliance as we host the first CIC2* International class of 2012, with one of the country’s foremost specialists in the marketing and selling of rural and equestrian properties. Somerley House’s heritage stretches back to 1750 and Chesterton Humberts to 1805.

Suzie Cotterill the joint organiser of the event said, “this is a perfect match for Somerley and Chesterton Humberts, has a deep understanding and a great deal of experience in the rural and equestrian world and have an international presence across five continents. We hope to have riders from all those continents entered here in the opening International in the same year as a home Olympics.”

David Pardoe, director of Chesterton Humberts’ Rural office in Salisbury, commented “We are delighted to be supporting such an important event in such a momentous year for this – and every - sport in the UK.”

Chesterton Humberts is generous supporter of the equestrian world, sponsoring Burghley Horse Trials in 2011 and top rider Emily Baldwin, a winner at Chatsworth International.

There is likely to be a sparkling entry of British and International riders, MARY KING (2012's HSBC FEI Classics champion) PIPPA FUNNELL, WILIAM FOX-PITT are 3 hopeful British Olympic contenders. ANDREW NICHOLSON, PAUL TAPNER (BADMINTON 2010 winner) and CLAYTON and LUCINDA FREDERICKS (Badminton winner 2007) are all top NZ and Australian Olympians, not forgetting the irrepressible the current Badminton champion, Mark Todd .

On Tuesday there are Novice & Intermediate classes, when the event horses of the future will see if they can complete dressage showjumping and the challenge of cross country. Wednesday sees the finale of the International CIC** with showjumping and the excitement of the cross country.

Somerley Park runs on the magnificent Somerley Estate near Ringwood Hampshire, with the kind permission of the Earl of Normanton. Car access is fromA338. Parking is easy. There are 25 countryside trade stands with a wide variety of products on offer for equine and leisure pursuits. There is a large public marquee with quality catering. There will be a specialist marquee with a wide selection of the best of the local Farmer’s Market produce.

Somerley Park horse trials is set in beautiful parkland with marvellous viewing; it is provides an exciting day out in the country for the whole family, whether you like horses or not!
