Racing Charity Single Out Sunday

MAKE THE CHARITY SINGLE “CHELTENHAM” NUMBER ONE FOR JUST 99P

It was in 1964 that Petula Clarke took ‘Downtown’ to No 2 in the UK chart. Tony Hatch’s iconic song is now due to be released by the racing world 46 years later. Tony has written the first ever parody of the song, entitled ‘Cheltenham’ and given his seal of approval for its release on Sunday 7th March, when racing fans nationwide will be able to help make the song Number One in the UK and Irish charts, ahead of the Festival.

The single is for the sole benefit of The Riding for the Disabled Association, The Bob Champion Cancer Trust, Racing Welfare and the National Rehabilitation Hospital in Ireland.

After two successful recordings in London and Dublin with more than 40 racing faces taking part including; A P McCoy, Paul Nicholls, Barry Geraghty, Clive Smith and Sam Thomas to name a few, interest has been building and Paddy Power have priced up the chances of the single hitting the No 1 spot in both the UK and Irish charts at 10/1 and 8/1 respectively.

The lead vocalist on the track is 25 year-old pop/country and soul singer, Laura Critchley who won best Live entertainer in 2008 at the Irish Entertainment Awards and has supported the Sugababes in Dublin along with Boyzone at the RDS Stadium previously.

The single is available for 99p to download in the UK from all digital stores, including iTunes, 7digital and all mobile networks, but the easiest way to purchase the single is to text "track 5271 m" to 83262 on most phones (although not the iPhone). Texts cost £1.00  It is also available as a physical CD on-line for £1.99p from Amazon.com, play.com and HMV.co.uk.  A second version will be mixed for nightclubs!
